Mary Jo Meisner, Secretary

Vice President, The Boston Foundation

Mary Jo Meisner joined the Boston Foundation in November 2001 as Vice President for Communications, Community Relations and Public Affairs. In her current capacity, she is responsible for all of the Foundation’s communications, media relations, public affairs, and civic and information activities, including the Boston Indicator’s Project. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mary Jo spent 25 years in the newspaper business as a reporter, editor, and news executive at newspapers throughout the United States. She served as a Pulitzer Prize Juror in 1994, 1996, and 2001 and has taught at the American Press Institute and the Poynter Institute for Media Studies. Mary Jo is a member of the American Society of Newspapers Editors and the International Press Institute, and serves on the boards of several Boston area organizations. Her Board memberships include: World Boston, the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay, the Greater Boston Food Bank, and the Women’s Health Leadership Forum of Brigham & Women’s Hospital. She lives in Boston with her son.
