 Gabriela Gomez Coates was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican  Republic. She grew up and lived in the Bronx, NY before moving to Massachusetts. Gabriela received her Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Baruch College - CUNY, and her Masters Degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University. For the past four years she has been working with various community organizations like Lawrence CommunityWorks and YouthBuild Lowell. 

At these organizations Gabriela has worked on promoting college awareness, assisting students with financial aid, and most recently helping students obtain their GED and build essential leadership skills. She is extremely passionate about working with youth and helping them achieve their dreams. She is passionate about using vibrant ideas to connect with families in Lawrence, MA and to empower students to reach their full potential after high school.
