You need JavaScript enabled to view it Lorenzo comes to the ACCESS Springfield Promise Program with a deep passion for positive social change and youth empowerment stemming from his own personal experiences. Raised by a single mother who dropped out of high school, Lorenzo navigated obstacles including homelessness, poverty, and dropping out of high school himself to attain a GED, a Bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College, and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Columbia University. He has worked directly with Springfield youth as the director of a summer program and a teacher at the High School of Commerce. He has been recognized for his civic engagement by Governor Deval Patrick and Representative Benjamin Swan and was honored in 2007 by the Key Players Project for being a positive role model for young people. |

ACCESS is proud to announce that it has received this year’s Champion of ACCESS award from the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts (AICUM) at their recent Annual Dinner for its success in increasing college access for low-income students in Boston and Springfield.
